Committees

A total of 20 committees will be simulated at CAUMUN. Regular committees will have 25 delegates participating, while the two security councils will have exactly 15 delegates each. Each school will represent one country(there may be limited exceptions). Delegates are expected to comply with the rules of procedure given in the following sections. Every committee will give out one best delegate award, one honorable mention and one best position paper award. One school will be awarded the best delegation award.

Beginner Committees

Perfect for MUN newcomers, these committees provide an enjoyable, and smooth first step into the world of UN modelling. Being in a beginner level committee has no connotation with skill, rather purely experience. These committees are generally less intense and have looser device rules.

Intermediate Committees

Created for delegates with significant prior MUN experience, these committees offer more competitive and fast-paced debate. Being an intermediate committee is perfect for those who wish to refine their negotiation and rhetorical skills.

Expert Committees

Experience speaks louder than words, therefore CAUMUN's second edition features a curated list of committees designed specifically for seasoned delegates. Expect the most competitive committee you will ever experience in your MUN career and make sure to be ready. Delegates are expected to demonstrate strong leadership, research, and resolution-building abilities.

Specialized Committees

These committees represent the most intense, experimental and hardcore challenges of the CAUMUN experience. Delegates will experience what it means to be a cabinet member during a crisis, a military official in a conflict turned hot, a journalist during a large scale UN event or a lawyer being tested in an international court. All delegates must remember that apart from the press corps, these committees require the tireless work of even the most experienced delegates to achieve a desirable end.
